If you were to write an intro for “One More Night With You” before it played on the radio, what would you want listeners to know about the song?
This song is for the men and women out there who have that special someone – the one that you know is your forever. It’s a song that talks about how you would do anything and are willing to lay your life down with this person. It’s a song about just how much you love someone.
6 Things You Don’t Know About Me:
Grew up in Cleveland, MS, near the birthplace of Delta Blues.
Learned piano and guitar, sang with your church choir and at local venues with John Michael Balducci as the duo Mississippi Gravy. Alumnus of Delta State, Music Institute (DMI). What was your favorite class at the Music Institute and why?
I actually wasn’t a DMI major at Delta State! I was a HPER major (Health, Physical Education and Recreation). I really enjoyed my time there as a basketball coach.
Big fan of Elvis. What makes his music so special for you?
I would say it’s the show he put on and how much he changed the world with no social media. It goes to show that yes, social media is great, but if a guy from Tupelo, MS can reach the world, a guy from Cleveland, MS can too.
“All Because of You,” is for “small town guitar pickers, beer drinkers, country singers, dirt-road riders, back-pew sliders, sinners like me.” What themes have you not addressed in your songs to date but hope to soon?
A theme I haven’t addressed yet is hair loss suffrages in this world. Haha, one day I’ll have a song for all of the bald people in the world like me!
Tried out for American Idol, 18th season. Joined Team Legend on The Voice last year, making it to the Knockout Rounds. “Ever thought that maybe God talks to you through a song?” You shared that you believe your purpose is to share your God-given gifts with others. How have fans influenced the music you make?
I always write from the heart and what I’m going through at the moment. The support and love my fans have shown for me is incredible and I truly wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them.
“Family is #1 in my life! I’m so thankful to have such a supportive and inspirational wife to keep me going.” “Oh Yeah,” “I got this song from my buddy, John Ramey and knew as soon as I heard it that I had to record it. It’s a song for any guy who is head over heels over a pretty girl that turns his head and steals his heart. It reminds me of my beautiful wife, Lauren, we’ve been married 7 years and man…when she walks by, I’m still like, “Oh Yeah,” she just makes me thank my lucky stars every day. This song is for her.” What was Lauren’s reaction when she first heard this song?
She described the song as “catchy, fun” and, overall, she really loved it!
Hosting the Barbecue Country Show on The Country Network. Can you share your favorite recipe for barbeque?
All I can say is “Hawg Feathers” are the best in the world.

The simple message that life can be taken at any minute. So give your best every day, because you never know.

This song reminds me of my step-father that took me and my brothers in. He loved me just like his own. I never ever felt like just a step-kid. He was my hero – Lord rest his soul, I miss him every day.
“Stand By Me” – Ben E. King
Always loved the old sound and you know everyone loves this song.

This song is the reason why I learned piano.

His energy and charisma on the stage is what has always inspired me.

And, lastly, anything by Chris Stapleton.
