My “Why”
I create music because I have to. I couldn’t live without it. I started singing when I started talking, and when I heard my Papa’s voice singing the sweet songs he used to make up for me, I knew he was home and I was safe from the abuse I was suffering as a child from another family member.
I want my music to impact others. I want to spread awareness. I want to help people realize that their own lives are worth something. I want them to see that they’re not alone, and that they’re worthy of pursuing happiness.
This is WHY I create music, and it’s why I’m speaking with you today.
My name is Amelia Presley, and this is my fundraising campaign.
About Me
I’ve been at this music thing for a bit. I’ve performed both solo and as one-half of the country duo Highway Sisters. These projects have provided me with a lot of incredible opportunities.
I’ve gotten major radio airplay on dozens of radio stations around the world, spanning from my roots in Mississippi to places like Pennsylvania, Belgium, Nebraska, Oklahoma, England, The Netherlands, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, and all over my adopted home state of Texas!
I’ve been featured in a bunch of press outlets like American Songwriter, Medium, Americana Highways, and a whole lot more.
I’ve appeared on American Idol, CBS Great Day Houston, and The Country Network, performed the national anthem for the Texas Rangers and New Orleans Pelicans, performed at the Grand Ole Opry and shared the stage with more fantastic artists than I can count — people like Coffey Anderson, Hosier, Doug Stone, Cory Morrow, Bri Bagwell, Stoney LaRue, and a whole lot more.
What’s Next
Now it’s time for me to focus on my next commercial studio release. I’ve written a great group of songs that I think y’all are really gonna like, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
I’ve teamed up with Edgewater Music Group here in Texas. They have a great track record of helping artists like me make great records and take big steps forward in the music industry. They’ve already lined up distribution for this project through The Orchard, which is a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
So I’m really excited about everything we’ve got lined up…but to be honest with you, I could use a little help to make it all happen.
The Challenge
Back in the “good old days,” an artist like me could often find funding from small regional record labels, but the streaming era has funneled so much of the money to the top 1% of label-backed artists that it often isn’t financially viable for most labels to take many risks.
Meanwhile, I still have a ton of costs I have to cover to get new music out, things like recording, mixing, mastering, pressing, and promotion.
This is where you come in, and it’s why I’m asking for your support to help make this new project a reality!
Rewards
If you decide to support me on this journey, I’ve got some really cool rewards as a thank you!I’ll have both physical and digital copies of the new record we produce. I’ll have an exclusive early bird special where you can get your hands on the music way ahead of the public release date. I’ve got merch, private shows, and you can even be listed as an executive producer on the credits list of the record I make!
